Ellis was enjoying a sunny day with his friends when he was shot in the back during a confrontation with another group of males at the Liver Industrial Estate in Aintree, Liverpool, on June 23, 2024. Despite the efforts of the police and the arrest of several individuals, no charges have been filed, and the responsible parties remain at large. Crimestoppers has offered a substantial reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to a conviction. Ellis's family, devastated by the loss, described him as a vibrant and grateful individual with big dreams. They shared that he wanted to travel the world and experience life's wonders, loved people, and was loved in return. His humor, charm, and inclusive nature made him well-liked by everyone. To honor his memory, Liverpool Town Hall, St George's Hall, and the Cunard Building will illuminate in orange, Ellis's favorite color, on January 18, 2026, the date he would have turned 21.
